Abstract

The research aims to identify the effect of reactive agility training on the performance level of some skill variables for basketball juniors under 16 years of age. The researchers used the experimental approach, given its suitability to the nature and objectives of the research. The experimental design relied on a single experimental group (pre-test and post-test). The research sample was intentionally selected from under-16 basketball juniors at the City Club, Shebin El-Kom branch - Team (A) - registered and unregistered within the Qalyubia region affiliated with the Egyptian Basketball Federation for the 2024/2025 sports season. The total research sample consisted of (24) juniors. The proposed training program was implemented using reactive agility training for a period of (8) weeks, consisting of (32) training units. The most important results were statistically significant differences at a significance level of (0.05) between the averages of the (pre-test and post-test) measurements of the research group in the level of skill variables (under investigation) for under-16 basketball juniors, in favor of the post-test measurements. It was found that there were differences in the rates of improvement that occurred between the averages of the measurements (pre- and post-) of the research group in the level of skill variables (under study) for basketball juniors under 16 years of age, in favor of the post-measurements, as the rates of improvement ranged between (21.79%) and (43.46%) in the skill variables.
